To have the perfect pair of bespoke handmade curtains fit the exact window, it is important to take precise measurements. This is based on a property within 20 miles of Tunbridge Wells. You do not have to be present, but I love to meet my clients and discuss their ideas and plans. I will make you anything your heart desires (well, almost anything!) My longstanding regular clients keep coming back to Silk Interiors because I will give you the benefit of 20 years of experience, even if this means I talk myself out of work. The cost of the measure is credited against your invoice.
Most of our clients choose and order their material based on the information in the quote for the number of square meters required. Silk Interiors will then receive the delivery and turn that material into your perfect bespoke curtains or blinds. We will then supply the necessary consumables to manufacture the item. Please be aware that some types of material and patterns can significantly increase the time taken to make your item. Extra care and attention to detail have to be taken with patterns, and some materials are very time-consuming to work with, which both add labour costs. It is important to discuss your choice of material at our initial consultation. This can mean that your curtains or blinds can be a different price to make in one material and more expensive for exactly the same item in a different material.
We do not fit curtains or blind hardware but we are happy to recommend local professional fitters. We would not ask a fitter to run a perfectly straight line on a sewing machine! We have always been an advocate for getting the right people for the right job. We do not take a commission from installers but, we will put you in touch directly to book and pay for your installation. It is a tricky job and we only recommend the best. If you are throwing up a pair of ready-made curtains, then have a go. If you want the job done right because you have bespoke handmade curtains, then we suggest leaving it to the pros. It is always best to get a quote and timeframe beforehand to avoid any surprises.
